But how can you be sure you've found the right one?The brothers McMullen are lost in a haze of romantic confusion wrestling with their volatile Irish Catholic upbringing. Jack is married and adores his wife but is tempted to have an affair. Barry runs away from any woman who even suggests the commitment of a second date. And as for Patrick he's so hopelessly romantic and incurably Catholic that he's taking advice about relationships from Barry.Thrown together for a few months in their childhood home the McMullen brothers spur each other on to come to grips with their past their women and ultimately the choices that shake up their lives only to discover that nothing runs as deep as family.
History of Hall-Marks
Queen Anne's Press, no date. Hardback with blue cloth covers, with gilt lettering on the spine and gilt decoration on the spine and front cover. It is in good condition, but some the pages are coming loose and there is some foxing on the pages. Commissioned by Rothmans and written mainly for those collecting British silverware. It traces the change in status of the silversmith from a powerful and rich member of the community soon after the Norman conquest to his later position as a specialised artisan. The history of hallmarks and the laws which govern them are charted back over seven hundred years. The Act of 1973 is also explained. A detailed account of how to recognise hallmarks by maker and town, suggests types of collections which are feasible and gives advice on cleaning, insurance, etc. The individual histories of the main assay towns, apart from London, are also covered in detail, with a special section on the history of the craft in Scotland and Ireland. Contains Chronological Tables, Bibliography and Index.
